Pappardelle and Italian Sausage in Tomato Cream Sauce

Grandma Deana fell and busted her knee today in Milwaukee. She's 90, there's a high of 23 degrees there, but don't dare tell her it's too cold to walk to the pet store to buy bird seed for the feeder. Grandma still rolls out homemade ravioli for 12-20 people on Thanksgiving day every year. She refuses to wait till I get back to Milwaukee to help. I'd really like to cook with her and learn how she commands the kitchen, but as it may not be in the cards, I've become content with my own sauces, my own doughs, my own recipes in general. They're not Grandma Deana's, but they're as Italian as a Roberto Baggio field goal. Love you Grandma. This Pappardelle's for you!
