Gibson Les Paul All Mahogany Studio

I've had my eyes and ears on Gibson's Les Paul guitars for over 10 years. Finally, a version stripped down even more than the "Studio" has arrived. The main difference being the top - traditionally, Les Paul's are made with a mahogany body and maple top. This version is mahogany on mahogany. By the way - what pastime could me more holy and pure than luthiery or any woodworking for that matter?

This from Wikipedia

The "Studio" model was introduced in 1983 and is still in production. The intended market for this guitar was the studio musician; therefore, the design features of the "Les Paul Studio" were centered around optimal sound output. This model retained only the elements of the Gibson Les Paul that contributed to tone and playability, including the carved maple top and standard mechanical and electronic hardware. However, the Studio design omitted several stock Gibson ornamentations that did not affect sound quality, including the binding on the body and neck. (End quote.)

Also, after reading futher, I came to find that the 92 year old Paul is still playing at least twice weekly in New York City - his guitar of choice??? A mahogany on mahogany body - much like mine with a few whistles and bells added on;)

Les Paul was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
